Ho Chi Minh City – Nha Trang –
Da Nang – Hoi An – Hue – Ha Noi – Ha Long Bay
(15 days/ 14 nights)
Traveling by train is a unique way to meet the people
and an opportunity to experience the real atmosphere of the country.
The Unification Express train line was constructed a century ago by
the French to connect the south and the north of Viet Nam and travels
along the coastal spine of the country. Today the train is refurbished
and travel time has been reduced significantly. We start our journey
from cosmopolitan Ho Chi Minh City. After visiting this city and Cu
Chi, the impressive underground tunnel network in the struggle against
America, we travel along the coast with a stop in Nha Trang to enjoy
its white sand beaches before continuing to Da Nang. After exploring
the seaport Da Nang and the ancient town of Hoi An, we travel 4-hour
on one of the most scenic routes paralleling Hai Van Pass as we traverse
mountain passes and skirt along the coastline to the imperial city of
Hue, home to the Royal Tombs and Citadel. Our last overnight leg is
to Ha Noi, a city of refined colonial architecture and traditional charm.
Our trip concludes with a magnificent cruise through Ha Long Bay before
taking back to Ha Noi. Patience and flexibility are key factors to appreciate
this unique adventure fully.
