Ha Noi - Sapa (4
days / 3 nights)
Sapa is a
former French hill station situated in sweeping valleys near the Chinese
border. Sapa attracts visitors for its stunning scenery, comfortable
climate, outstanding trekking, colorful markets and variety of ethnic
hill tribes who live in nearby villages. This program has increasingly
become popular through the years with improvements in the road conditions
and the new 4-star Victoria Sapa Hotel making travel today much easier
and more comfortable.
Our adventure
starts with the 10-hour drive through picturesque hills and valleys
into the highlands. Arriving in Sapa late in the afternoon, we will
check our hotel and use what day light there is left to stretch our
legs with a short walk around town. Following a good nights rest, we
start by getting some exercise with a 2 hours trek to the hill tribe
village of Ta Phin, home to the Dao minority. As we walk through the
villages, we will meet some of the local minority people on their way
to and from Sapa. Day 3 and there will be another five or six hour trek
to the hill tribe villages of Cat Cat, Ta Van and Cau May. Once again,
we will encounter minority people, including the Red Dao, Hmong and
Tay people. After two nights in Sapa we will make our way back to Ha Noi
via the township of Bac Ha*, to see the very colorful flower H'mong people.
From here, it is an eight-hour drive to Ha Noi.
