Cao Bang
Cao
Bang province is a country of many Vietnamese ethnic groups who live on
forestry and farming. Many of them still live on the highest mountains
and make terraced rice fields.
It shares 314 km of border with China. The weather
here is cool all year round. In winter, snow covers some mountain peaks
sometimes. An Giac waterfall in Trung Khanh is magnificent at the height
of 30 meters. Many wild orchids grow in this region. Open markets are
good places for many horses with the owners in colorful costumes.
Lang Son
This is the frontier town to China. Local people live on exchanging
trade at the border. Many open markets for local people, mainly the
Vietnamese ethnic groups Tay, Nung, Hmong, Dao are interested. Forest
products like bear hides, forest leaves used as medicine, honey, stuffed
reindeers are common. Here, local food generally consists of forest
products and trees of deep and strong fragrance.
Tam Thanh Caves
These
three grottoes in Lang Son were formed inside the limestone mountain. The
most interesting cave is the Third Thanh with the shape of a lady
waiting on the mountain.
Legends said that a lady and her child were
waiting for her husband, a combatant who left home for the war. She kept
waiting for him, but there was no news from him. She herself and her
child became stone. They stand waiting forever.
